I’m Rex. I am nine years old and have been here at the refuge for eight months. I came here with my dad, Rocky. We had stayed our whole lives with the same person and were very happy. Things changed, though, and we were made homeless. Our owner could not keep us then as he had nowhere to stay that would take us too. Rocky now has a lovely home. I’m so happy about that as he was older than me and his legs got sore. I’d love to have my own home just like him.
I’m a good dog but can get very overwhelmed and excited about life. I pretend to be big and strong but, inside, am quite nervous of strangers and other dogs. Of life in general, really. I can’t help it, though. It is just because we didn’t do much socialising in my old life. Also, even though my people at K9 keep telling me how handsome I am, I think perhaps I look a little old and untidy. Maybe this is why people who visit and want to adopt a dog always pass me by. I don’t know. My people say not to worry and that my day will come but I’m not sure. I would be so happy if you would be my sponsor.
