George is a Podenco-mix, medium-sized dog around 12 months old.
George was born in a barranco to a street mum. Having spent his first four months with no interaction with humans, George is frightened of strangers although bolder every day. He is happy with other dogs and loves playing in the exercise yard and walking on lead with his friends.
During his time at k9 – and after some “at home and out and about” socialisation with an expert volunteer – George has come out of his shell and approaches those he knows for treats. Every day his confidence in himself and people grows but there is still a way to go. It will take a special person with lots of patience and understanding to give George a home. However, his sister, Mildred, who arrived at the refuge with him has now been successfully re-homed so, with the right person, George certainly can be too.
